Peak District Landscape Photography Workshops
These courses are designed to give newcomers to photography, or those just wishing to improve their knowledge, a better understanding of their camera and use it more creatively.
Choose from either of the following courses:
*SMALL GROUP COURSES or **ONE-TO-ONE TUITION
*Small Group Courses are kept to a maximum of 5/6 people.
Venue for course is the Derbyshire Peak District, we meet at 8.30 am at Surprise View car park, just above Hathersage. Car parking charges apply here between 10am and 6pm.
From here it’s a short stroll to the first area that we’ll be exploring on the day.
This area includes superb views across the Hope Valley (subject to good visibility), one of the largest collections of discarded mill-stones in the country, a disused quarry, and a fantastic woodland area. If there are any rock-climbers out and about, you’ll have further great picture-taking opportunities!
Once we’ve explored this area we’ll then move on a few miles to our next stop, Burbage Brook. Here we’ll be using simple creative techniques to ‘freeze’ running water and create moody, evocative landscape photographs.
Lunch follows at Grindleford Cafe.
After lunch we’ll make our way to our final location of the day, Curbar Edge.
The Peak District has a wonderful horseshoe edge of Gritstone that includes a superb stretch around Derbyshire and it’s here we find the magnificent rocky faces of Curbar Edge and Frogatt Edge. Despite being the practising ground for climbers, both have easy access from car parks making it easy for all ages to enjoy the breathtaking views.
From here the public footpath takes you straight onto Curbar Edge. There’s no climb, just a steady path across to Curbar Edge. Like most spots the paths can get boggy after periods of rain so be prepared with waterproof footwear.
Our day ends here at approx’ 4.30/5.00pm.
PRICE: £49 per person.
