These courses are designed to give newcomers to photography, or those just wishing to improve their knowledge, a better understanding of their camera and how to use it more creatively.

The Clocktower Business Centre is on the site of the former Staveley Works company.
It is just 10 mins from M1 Junction 30 and just a five minute drive from The Ringwood Hall Hotel, Chesterfield.
We are also just a short walking distance from Britain’s only surviving operational Roundhouse Engine Shed, The Barrowhill Roundhouse.

We have ample free parking, disabled access and a lift to our second floor studio if required.
Agenda:
8.30-9.00am - Arrive, Coffee/Tea
9.00-9.30am - Introduction
9.30-12.30am - Camera settings and controls including:
Exposure modes and controls.
Selective focus to emphasize the subject.
Composition and developing a ‘photographer’s eye’!
Understanding ISO settings better.
Using different lenses for different effects and purposes.
File types.
Using filters.
Saving photographs to your computer and making sure you don’t lose them!
12.30-1.15pm LUNCH
1.15-3.00pm Weather permitting, taking shots along the nearby Chesterfield Canal and viewing them as a group.
We’ll be looking at lines, patterns, textures, forms and shapes.
3.00-4.30pm Back indoors to view and discuss shots taken.
Photographs reviewed using a digital projector.
4.30-5.00pm Review and feedback.
5.00pm END
